County champions Killererin and St James dominate the 2010 Claregalway Hotel Dream Teams announced this week.

It was a mixed day yesterday for Mayo sides in the AIB Connacht Club Football Championship, with Parke claiming the junior title and Ballintubber losing out to Galway champions Killererin in the senior semi final.

It is a busy weekend of action for both the Mayo senior and junior champions, with Ballintubber fresh from winning their first senior county title looking to book their place in the Connacht final on Sunday against Galway champions Killererin in Tuam Stadium at 2.30pm. When James Horan’s men are getting ready for throw in on Sunday, Frank McHale’s Parke side will be just coming up to half time in their Connacht Junior Final against Leitrim side Eslin in McHale Park, hoping that they are on their way to booking a spot in the All Ireland series.

Killererin will take on the Mayo senior champions Ballintubber on Sunday at 2.30pm in the Connacht semi-final at Tuam Stadium.

The Claregalway Hotel dream team nominations were announced this week and the selected XV in senior and intermediate will be presented with their awards at a gala function in late November.

Anyone watching the Killererin team bus pull up to the back gates of Pearse Stadium behind their Garda escort a good hour before the senior throw-in last Sunday afternoon knew they meant business. They were there to collect.

History will be made next Sunday in Pearse stadium at 4pm when Killererin and Corofin come face to face in a county senior final for the first time.

We were not at all surprised last Saturday evening when it took extra-time to separate these two near neighbours in a keenly-fought and exciting county semi-final.
